[Elsa looks a lot more subdued than usual - especially compared to her last video - when she begins recording, staring out the window of the little apartment she and Anna had begun renting for their stay in Goldenrod. It's snowing, this time with no help from her, and she's just watching the flakes drift lazily past.]

I know this may sound like an odd question, but... how do you go about celebrating things you haven't really acknowledged in a very long time? Birthdays, holidays, things like that... It feels strange to just go ahead and do it and act like the lack of celebrations in years past never happened. Wrong, almost, to completely dismiss such a long amount of time like that.

It seems rather difficult to make a special event even more special. Does that make sense at all?

[She's not even thinking about her own upcoming birthday (on the 21st!) at all. But Christmas is coming up... the first Christmas in thirteen years that the sisters will be spending together. She wants Anna's first real Christmas since she was five to be perfect, or at least as perfect as Elsa can make it. She just... has no idea how to do that.]

[She knows Anna would be fine with just that, so that should be a comforting thought. But... it's not! She wants to go all-out! Except...

She lets out a somewhat frustrated sigh.]

It would be so much easier to go "above and beyond" if I still had my magic....

Hmm. Well, what could your magic do? You could always find a way to simulate it with a Pokémon. Or you could do something like a home cooked meal, handmade gifts... Even without magic, you've got options.

[Though he really can't fault her for going the distance. He even offers a smile in support.]

[She actually thinks about it, then looks... somewhat nervous.] A good idea, but probably not the smartest one. I don't know the first thing about cooking....

[Which, you know, should probably change now that she and Anna are living on their own.....]

Hmm... Well, what if you took her somewhere fancy for the holidays? There should be some good restaurants around Goldenrod. Been a while, but I coulda sworn I saw some high-class places in some of the richer districts.

[The names are kinda lost on him, mostly because Riku's a teen and his meals of choice tend to be kinda junky. Or seafood. Olivine's better for his tastes, really.]

Hmm... Maybe. I'll have to hurry though, I imagine the reservations for the best places to eat are almost entirely booked for Christmas by now.

Hey, you never know. The city's big enough that there's gotta be some spots that are open.

And if not, Ecruteak's just a short trip away. Might give a more relaxing atmosphere, anyway.

Even so. I'd rather not wait, just in case!

And that's true. We haven't really talked about heading out, though. If I suddenly asked Anna to pack up and head out, she might get suspicious... and I want this to be a surprise, after all.

Hmm... Yeah, you got me there.

You thought about what you'd be getting her for Christmas yet? That's another way you could make it count. There's practically a store for everything out there, but you ever thought about making her a gift?

I thought about it, yes. But without my magic, I'm afraid I don't really have any way to make her anything that I know will turn out well.

The shops have been quite chaotic the past few weeks, but I'll certainly do my best to brave them. I have some ideas... I just need to find the right person.

Well, what does she usually like? Clothes? Food? Books? Or you could always grab her an egg. I'm sure there are Breeders who'd be happy to set you up.

But, truth is, I'm still trying to figure out a present for Sora. So I guess we're in the same boat.
