[It's snowing in Olivine City! Or, well. In an area of the beach a bit away from the city, that is. DETAILS. While not an odd sight if you're training a pokemon, the snow isn't coming from a pokemon; it's coming from the fair-haired young lady standing in the midst of the snowfall, arms sweeping back and forth as the flurries blow this way and that.

Most of her pokemon look on passively, having seen this display once before, months ago. But still they play! The ones who weren't around for the last show of Elsa's power are jumping about much more eagerly, rolling about in the drifts or happily snapping or swatting at the falling flakes.

Elsa herself, on the other hand, simply laughs and watches, flicking bits of snow at her companions every so often. She doesn't even seem to mind that Frigga grabbed her gear and is filming all of this right now.]

Perfect timing, isn't it? With how warm it's been, I'm glad I could help all of you cool off for a bit!

Well... it might be like with us? Seeing other pokémon doing extraordinary things might be normal for them, but seeing a human with extraordinary powers would be something different.

Ah. Yes, I... suppose I expected something like that on some level. You wouldn't be Queen at your age otherwise after all.

Still, I did hope I was wrong...

[Elsa shakes her head.] Don't worry about it. It's.... I think that's one thing in my life I've actually been able to cope with.

And it was just an accident, not something... worse. [Like what almost happened with her and Anna.] A ship they were traveling on was lost at sea.

Hm... you do have a point there.

I suppose it's nothing to worry about either way, though. They seemed happy when I showed them what I could do, so that's all that really matters, I suppose.

[Elsa laughs, but it's... somewhat halfhearted.]

Yes, it is... Anna's very good at pulling me out of my head when I can't realize I'm not in a very good place.

Accidental or more sinister, a loss is a loss. But if you say so. I don't think I'd cope quite as well.

[Then again, she'd have her friends, and Shining... Cadence, the Princesses, all in all maybe she'd be okay, even if it's not something she wants to think about.]

The ocean has always been treacherous. Equestria doesn't usually send oversea delegations unless we have a great deal of Pegasi to spare.

[His answering smile is soft and earnest.] I'm glad to hear that. You always need someone to pull you out, even when you don't know you need it.

Boy, don't I know that.

I think I've made people mad because of that before. I worry so much about everyone and everything around me that I don't realize I haven't been taking care of myself as much as them. Anna - and all my new friends here - don't really let me do that anymore.

Mm. As long as they're happy... and they certainly seem to really love you, Elsa.

[Elsa laughs, blushing a bit.]

Which is a bit funny, because I've never taken care of any sort of animal before I arrived here. I had no idea what I was doing for a while.

[Elsa's conveniently leaving out the fact that it took a few years to be able to cope with what happened....]

I see... and does that make traveling overseas easier or safer? I imagine so, unless the ambassadors encountered a storm.

Neither did I... I've never had any sort of pet before.

[ She attributes how easy it is to raise them to the level of intelligence the Pokémon have. ]

I think you're doing just fine.

Much safer. Pegasi can control the weather in groups, at least to an extent. Reversing air currents and changing the ambient temperature is a bit much, but they can at least keep the sky clear so long as there's enough of them to deal with any incoming clouds.

And of course, in sufficient numbers they can even go a step further, but typically speaking that would take all the pegasi in a town, or even a city.

Wow, that's amazing!

[Says the one who can manipulate weather all on her own.]

So is that method of travel any faster than travel by sea? I've never left Arendelle, but I know it can take weeks to reach other kingdoms by sea, in some cases...

Only because I've had so much help. I wouldn't know half of the things I knew now if it wasn't for Anna and the others helping me out.

Oh yes. You know the saying that a shortest distance between two points is a straight line? Well that form of travel allows for the use of that shortest route without any trouble. Of course, it's not without its own difficulties. Pegasi don't have infinite stamina, for one thing.

Oh, of course. But that's a drawback that can easily be remedied with establishing rest stops along travel routes, yes? That might be a bit difficult with sea travel, though, unless there are suitable islands along your route...

Typically for sea voyages they take a ship, but bring along a contigent of pegasi to keep the sky clear. It doesn't solve the problems of ocean currents, but usually without a storm those aren't dangerous enough to be a threat. At worst they might get pushed off course.

That's... that's good. That you're able to avoid dangers at sea like that, even if you have no way of directly controlling the water.

[Elsa doesn't even notice the way her smile fades a bit as she speaks. If controlling the weather could help smooth out the ocean... what if....]

Mm. I think so, too. I'm glad we had such helpful family.

[Despite the change in her species, Twilight's still surprisingly easy to read. Her ears droop and the curve of her neck slopes down a bit as she sees the look in Elsa's eyes.]

The worlds might be a little better if things like that were more commonplace.

Infinitely better. I'm sure accidents like that might still happen, but... the chances will be so much lower.

One would hope, anyway. But, well, if wishes were gold we'd all be rich, as the saying goes.

Though if we had that much gold then the value of gold itself would plummet, rendering it useless as currency.
