Thirteenth Flake [Text]

[Normally, Elsa doesn't care for making text posts. Video helps her be more open people, and even after over a year here, she could always use more help with that! But there are still rare occasions where she just... doesn't trust her emotions to stay under control. So text it is for those days.]

For those of you who have been here for quite a while now:
Is there... any good way to cope with people from other worlds leaving?
I know that, when people from your own world leave, you can be comforted in the fact that you'll see them again when you return home.

But... what about those from other worlds?
They're gone, and unless you remain here for long enough that you return, you'll never see them again.
And if they're important to you, just as much as the people from your own world...

How can you get over the disappearance of someone like that?

There's not much you can do but remember. Do things that remind you of them, and be happy you've got those memories.

Well of course it's going to hurt. You don't have them anymore.

But it's a way to keep something of them, and it hurts less eventually.

Depends on how close you were. Which it sounds like you were.

So no, probably not. But it gets...different, if you remember them with things you can enjoy. It still sort of hurts, but it's happy too.

if this happened just now though another thing to do is go out and break stuff. smash some bottles on a wall or throw bricks at an abandoned building or something. if you're in goldenrod there are some great junkyards.

That's always rough. Especially if they're from a different world.

How is that extreme though??

[He was very careful to only list breakable things that don't belong to other people!!]

It's not like it hurts anyone, and it's satisfying as hell, trust me on that one. There's also gyms for people in most places. You can let it out on a punching bag for a little while.

be sure to use a punching bag though and don't just go find a tree, that will mess your hands up. also trust me on that one.

I don't know, I've never stayed there long.

but I'd bet it does. and if not, Goldenrod's not far for a day trip if you've got Fly.
