Here's the first bit of our new radio drama! Casting is listed at top, we'll record through the week. It's called The Black Cofagrigus of Death, and it's appropriately spooky.
[There's a bit of a delay in Elsa's response as she reads, but when she finally does speak up, it's clear even through her text that she's impressed.]
Spooky is right! This certainly seems much darker than it was last year... I almost hope we'll have a rainy night when this airs! It would be like the cherry on top of a sundae.
Uh...hey, Elsa? Sorry if I'm waking you up...if I'm waking you up, just go back to sleep and call me in the morning.
I just...need to talk, I guess.
[Because she'd woken up to take her late night/early morning watch shift and found...no Vaughn. His stuff and his Pokemon were still there, minus his starter, but the man...was gone. It's not like Korra doesn't know what happened, she's gotten unpleasantly used to this kind of thing. She knows she should make an announcement, like it's custom to, but...]
[She finds herself reaching out to the one person who hasn't vanished yet.]
[It's clear that Korra's message woke Elsa up - when the feed clicks on, the room around her is dim, and her hair is tousled from sleep as she squints against the light of her gear. But even so, she reaches over to the bedside table, flicking the light on, and pulls her hair back into a loose ponytail so she's at least somewhat presentable.]
No, no, it's quite all right, you don't have to apologize.
[There's a pause as Elsa focuses, and her brows furrow a little as she realizes that something must be wrong here.]
[It's... a little awkward, because every time people talk about others they were close to disappearing, she can't help but think of Asami. And thinking of her while talking to Korra is... probably not good. So she shoves those feelings back, and refuses to touch that for now.]
I'm so sorry to hear that. I know that, with how often people come and go, it seems like those of us who have been here for years now should be able to get used to this happening. But...
[Elsa can feel a lump curling in the back of her throat at that. She has some good friends here, people she's shared a lot with. But that... it really hits deep down. Even after two years, old feelings are hard to break, and that disconnect with others that consumed her for most of her life was still there. Korra's words... hearing her admit that Elsa has an impact like that on her makes that rift feel a lot smaller.]
I could say the same to you as well, Korra. I wish I could say I won't leave, but...
[But it would be cruel to lie about something like that.]
I will promise that, for however long I remain in this land, I'll be here for you.
I'm just being the same sort of friend that you've been to me.
[A little cheesy, maybe, but it's true. Especially because Korra was probably the first person who isn't her sister that Elsa could really connect to, both in this world and back in Arendelle. Korra, with her feelings of isolation, trying to figure out powers that nobody else has, all while trying to juggle a vastly important duty placed on her shoulders... how could she not repay her friendship like this?]
Oh, he's wonderful. He was so very enthusiastic from the moment he heard about the project. And he's quite easy to work with, it's an enjoyable experience.
Oh, and he's quite fond of fantasy, and has experience in the genre. I mentioned your idea.
[ Okay. Serious time. There's a scuffle and the feeds turn to video. And...
Well, there's his face, somewhere around Route 32. His hair could be described as 'two car crashes bringing a cyclone into a threesome, then messing up the resultant baby'. He looks sheepish about it, but hey - who better to ask about this than someone with literal Disney Princess Hair? ]
How do you usually stop this when you're travelling?
[There's a pause, then... oh no. She can't help but stifle a giggle a little, because that's adorable.]
I'm sorry, but there's nothing that can be done while you're out on the road. [Elsa's lucky, she can just braid and tie up her hair when it gets unruly while she's out traveling. But him? Not so much...] The Pokemarts in all the towns I've been to have been very reliable with products that can help you, though!
