[ He exhales quietly in his version of an exasperated sigh. A hand comes up from the bottom of the frame and tries to at least brush some of the leaves out of it. Thick hair problems. Not to mention showing them to a very pretty girl. ]
I'll have to stock up when I get to Azalea. Didn't think to get any before I left.
[Despite her amusement, there is a good amount of sympathy in her expression too. If it wasn't for Anna being here for a few months before her, Elsa would've been in the same exact situation that Minato is in now. She was so used to others taking care of her needs that she had no idea how to take care of herself...]
If it helps at all, I can give you a list of the products I've found useful. I haven't traveled in quite a while, but I still use that I used back when I was more active.
[ He gives a little head-bow to the camera...which shakes leaves from his hair. The boy is a mess, and with no adorable little sister in sight to take care of him. ]
Where do you stay now? I'll make it up to you when I get there.
[Yep... that sure does make her just a little bit flustered. Elsa always had a pretty small circle of friends, so it's... not often that she hears something like that.]
[Elsa has a couple of visitors today, first is a Honchkrow which drops off two packages addressed to her. Second is a Charizard that two packages as well, both addressed to Anna. The latter two are of course the sweet she ordered for Anna as well as a present to the girl from Botan.
However, the first two, addressed to her are what's important at the moment. Inside the first Elsa will find that it's from Anna--a snowflake patterned krumkake with chocolate filling. The second is actually from Botan--hand painted chocolates in the shape of snowflakes and Ice type Pokemon and...a smaller box?
Inside this smaller box is a charm bracelet. Charms attached include a snowflake (of course), a sunflower (clearly representing Anna), a blue hydrangea, and...a pink peony? Judging by the color, of course, one can guess the hydrangea is for Elsa, but the peony is curious. Maybe the note that comes with it will explain:
"I know I always end up giving you jewelry, you're probably well and truly sick of it by now. However, I remember there was a time when it was traditional for women to have charm bracelets in which they customize it as they wish--either to reflect things that happened in life or whatever else. I chose some charms that, admittedly, might be a bit silly. As you know, I love flowers! But what I haven't talked about is hanakotoba, or the language of flowers in Japan. It's a fading art, communicating with flowers in that way, but I still remember it for certain.
Sunflowers mean respect and radiance (of course) and hydrangeas mean pride and gratitude. I can't think of a better way to express how I feel for you and your sister, dear Elsa. Thank you for being my friend all this time, even after finding out that I haven't been honest about what I am.
[The sweets Elsa had been expecting. In the past Valentine's Days she had spent here, she and Anna had always exchanged sweets. She didn't expect a little amnesia to change that. And Botan had always sent her something, so that wasn't surprising. What was surprising was the bracelet, and the letter... a letter Elsa read at least three times.
It makes something in her chest clench... but not in an unpleasant way. She and Botan had always been so open with each other, and Botan had never been shy with compliments or sentimental things like this. But this was... different. Maybe it was the day, or just the combination of the gift and the letter, but everything just... touches her more than it usually does. It's not an alien feeling, but she can't quite put her finger on when she last felt this....
Ah, but she can't dwell on herself right now. It would be horrible to not reply in some way, but she doesn't want to just sent a letter in return. So after clasping the bracelet around her wrist, she grabs her gear and prepares a message to Botan.]
[For Botan's part, it doesn't inspire strange feelings of chest clenching or anything--it just makes her nervous because of the exceedingly sentimental feelings behind it all. Elsa is someone that she loves very deeply, she knows that for sure, yet there's still so much that makes her feel like it can end at any time, whether by the fickle nature of this world or...well, she doesn't belong among humans naturally.]
Are they...[is that okay? Do you like them? Did I do well?] Ahem, did they arrive intact?
Didn't have to what? Give a dear friend a nice gift? [She shakes her head, insistent.] Nonsense, you know I'll always take the opportunity to spoil people I care about.
[A pause, she adds with sincerity:] Really, Elsa, you deserve it. Things here have been rough on you lately.
[Elsa can understand that at least, because she's absolutely the same way. She would never dare miss a chance to spoil Anna or her friends, to the point where she would start ignoring herself for their sakes. But it's just... weird, being on the other side of that. Weird, but not bad weird.]
It's nothing nobody else has dealt with before. [Ah Elsa, always trying to downplay her own problems...] But... things have been better now, I suppose.
[...That doesn't mean it's all right that it happened.
She smiles, or tries to, it looks smaller than it should be. Elsa has suffered so much and it wrenches at her heart how she still tries to downplay it. Who did that to her--made her feel like her problems had to be minimized or else? It certainly wouldn't be Anna, perhaps someone...]
[Never mind.]
Regardless, I've already done it. There's little shops where they sell charms, so you can add whatever you want to your bracelet.
Oh! Um, speaking of the charms... [Again Elsa's gaze drops a little, running her fingers along the peony charm.] You, ah, forgot to mention the meaning of one of the flowers.
Hearing Botan say that makes something inside of her clench again, not unpleasantly. And maybe it's because she's not overwhelmed by all the gifts anymore or maybe it's because of her words, but Elsa finally realizes when she felt this before.
It was that same sort of feeling in her gut when she talked to Asami. And having finally realized what that meant...
Oh boy.]
N-No, that... [Oh no. Her face is turning red now, isn't it?] You weren't too bold in thinking that.
On the other hand, the feeling of warm nervousness in Botan's chest isn't incredibly familiar to her. She should know what it is, intellectually she knows about how humans experience infatuation, she's witnessed it happening.
Botan has never felt that kind of affection for someone, however. No time for it, wrong place, wrong self. She doesn't belong with humans naturally.
It never felt like she didn't belong with Elsa, though. Actually, she usually feels welcomed if a little nervous with Elsa.]
Well...it's nothing too unique on my end, anyway. Having a flower name. All of the ferry women do--like my good friend Ayame, "iris."
