[This is new: a post from Elsa not in video. Normally she tries to use it as often as she can, since it helps her with talking to people without the intimidation of being face-to-face in person. But she's feeling kind of... not quite upset, but not like herself today. She'd rather not let that bleed into the video and audio, so for now, text it is.]

I just noticed the anniversary of a very important event in my life is almost here. The thing itself wasn't so bad - it was certainly something to celebrate at least - but the events that happened during and after it... they were more than a bit terrible.

[Yeah she's being kind of vague here. But only because she hasn't really told anyone about the whole "Eternal Winter" thing. And she's.... still somewhat afraid to. People know about what happened with Anna, yes, but if they knew she'd almost sentenced her entire kingdom to an eternal winter of suffering... would they act different towards her then?]

Even so, I... look back somewhat fondly on those days, despite the bad things that happened. Because even though bad things happened, a lot of good came out of it in the end.

Still... is that odd?

That might be a good idea. At the very least, I could see if the council is all right with letting my sister handle that, if I won't be able to...

That's exactly what I'm having trouble with. The things that happened... they're big. Very big. It affected my entire kingdom. That's why it feels a bit complicated, to me...

... Is it really normal to feel that way about you accidentally cursing your entire kingdom, though?

[There. She said it. No more being vague. Others... others seemed sympathetic to her problem even after she told them, so maybe this would be okay too...]

But... shouldn't there be a way to help them?

[He can't see it, but there's a pause. This one isn't private, so other people might see. But.... she's told a few others, and they didn't seem too upset by it, so...]

I.... accidentally cursed my kingdom. The entire thing.

It was what I thought was right at the time. I was wrong.

Okay look when I get this question it's usually because somebody did something like cheating on their boyfriend or crashing their parents' car or accidentally offending everyone at a party because they opened their mouth and stupid fell out, the whole supernatural thing is a little new to me so cut me a little slack here.

What did you curse them with? Was it like "everyone was really inconvenienced because there were serious storms for three weeks" or did you actually explicitly murder people or what? Because there's a difference in curses too.

They weren't around for some of it. Sometimes I would wonder if they would leave me if they had been... But I don't think so. That wouldn't be like them.

When it happened again, they were the ones who told me it was okay. That I saved them. They didn't forgive me because it didn't even occur to them even though what I did was so awful.

Yeah, I get you. I don't think that'll be something you can just forget about, 'specially not totally. I mean, I don't know what happened, but I know some things have happened in my life like that.

Do you want to be able to forget about it?

[Well that kind of. Snaps her out of it a bit. She wasn't expecting that little outburst there.]

It's... funny you should mention bad weather.

The curse caused the season to shift from summer to winter. With it came cold and storms that put everyone at risk. Even the fjords completely froze over.

If your actions were on such a broad scale, there is nothing you can do. Do these mixed feelings come from a personal gain you received for other the suffering of others?

...That family you mentioned. That's...Ana? Anna? I don't know how she spells it. She's a princess from Norway, mentioned a sister named Elsa. I'm guessing that's you.

I'm pretty sure she'd say it was worth it, too, for the record. She's kinda over the moon for you.

You're the one in charge! You can just tell them you want to do it! A queen has ultimate power, after all. And if they say 'no', do it anyways!

Oh, I see. I'm from a very small village, so I'm still learning about these things.

So if you looked after all this land and all these people, why did you run away from your problems?

[There's nothing accusatory there, he's just curious. Rossiu has always been the sort to be duty-oriented.]

I don't blame you for not wanting people to feel like that. I don't want anyone to think that about you, either! I mean, once they know you, they'll know you're the exact opposite of scary, and like I said, I'm pretty sure most people don't feel like that, even if I can't say with certainty that all of them don't. But they all will, one day, once you're on the throne for longer and you have more of a chance to show everyone how great you are! It's the kind of thing that'll get better with time, not worse. Fear can spread, but love can, too. And love's obviously the stronger of the two.

In any case, if the people are worried, we'll work and make sure they're taken care of. That's what a good queen does, right?

We, huh...?

[That alone is enough to calm Elsa's swirling thoughts a bit, and she can't help but smile.]

I'm glad you never gave up on that dream. Wanting to be my right hand, I mean.

[She shakes her head.]

I just... don't know how we can go about doing that. It's not like mama and papa taught me how to plan for things ending up like this.

Well... yes, you're right. Have you... tried to make amends? At least, to those who are here...?

What, you think I'm gonna let you run that whole kingdom by yourself? What kind of sister would I be if I left you stuck to deal with everyone like that on your own?

We'll have to figure it out and see what the state of things is when we get back. But I'm sure there's a lot we can do! As long as we keep them happy, things'll work out in the end.

... Not a bad one, because it's really not something a princess has to do. But you're still a wonderful sister for wanting to help.

[Wonderful. The best. The sister all other sisters should aspire to be!!]

Well, if things are exactly the same as when we left, then that will help us figure something out in the meantime, right?

I just don't want you to have all that weight on your shoulders...still, I think you're right! Though it's kind of been so long that I sort of forget what sort of problems our people were having back home...

... Normally, I'd be worried with you saying that, but... wow. [Elsa laughs again, though this time it sounds more shocked than genuinely amused.] I keep forgetting that you've been here for so long. And it makes me realize that I've been here for a long time now, too.

... I hope that we'll be able to handle everything again, after all this time not worrying about our responsibilities...

You'll be a year in about a month and a half, right? We should do something for your Johtoversary!

[Is that a thing? We'll make it one if it's not!]

I'm sure we'll be fine! Ruling a kingdom is like riding a bike, I'm sure.

I arrived here at the beginning of September, so... yes, it'll be a little over a month from now.

[Geez, Anna, you can't just go around making up new words like that...]

I don't know... there's a big difference between a physical skill and something like ruling over an entire kingdom.

Well just because we don't have our responsibilities from back home doesn't mean we've forgotten how to make, like, crucial decision making skills and whatnot! We do that stuff here too! Okay, okay, wait, how about this, then? Ruling a kingdom is like a gym battle!
