Tenth Flake [video]

[When the video flocks on, it shows Elsa, looking... a bit thoughtful. Not in a moody way like she was in her last post, judging by the lack of any trouble on her face, but.... it takes a moment for her to realize the recording started before she speaks.]

I checked the date today, and I only just realized something. Today is the one year anniversary of my arrival in Johto. [There's a pause, and she laughs, looking a bit embarrassed.] I promise this won't be as messy as the last time I talked about an "anniversary". That... got a little bit out of hand.

[A shake of the head, and with a sigh, her embarrassment fades.]

I've just... been thinking a lot today. The things I've done here, the people I've met.... they changed me. In ways I don't think I would've been able to change back home. I've learned a lot about the world and other people, and even discovered some things about myself I didn't know before. All thanks to the people here.

I suppose I should thank all of the people I've talked to here. Even if we've only spoken once, you've done much to help me, and for that, I'm forever grateful.

She smiles, then, a bright and brilliant thing.]

I mean, I did kinda jump the gun on going out with him, yeah, but, well, you're right! I mean, I guess the bright side of that too is that I, um, didn't really get a chance to do much when I was together with him...like, yeah, he's a nice guy and all, and I mean, I'm sure we'll still be friends whenever we end up getting back, but, um, the way I feel now is a little bit different from what I feel when I think about Kristoff, you know? Like, even though we've known each other a while, whenever I think about the whole thing my chest gets all tight and my face gets all hot and I get a little bit more rambly and it's just really exciting...

It's just so weird, though! I mean, not jumping into it and all...mostly because I don't really know if she likes me back or anything...

Oh, I have no doubt he'll still want to be your friend whenever we return home! Kristoff's too big of a teddy bear to want to cut off any contact with you. You'll still have a nice relationship, just... not a romantic one.

[And she'll fill his pants with snow and ice if he tries to be a jerk about it :| No one makes her little sister feel like she's a bad... person... for...

... Wait. Hold on. Did Anna really say...]

That's totally fine with me! As long as it doesn't end up, like, breaking his heart too badly or anything. I wouldn't want to hurt him that bad...

B-but, uh, yeah, she's a girl, alright! S-surprise! ...I mean, that's a thing, right? It's not like, you know, I make a choice one time and I'm stuck with it? That'd be pretty awful...but, y'know, I'm sure that's not a problem, I don't see why I'd have to keep myself from having a crush on a girl just because I've dated guys in the past...

N-No, it's not a bad thing!! Geez, I'd be a hypocrite if I said it was a bad thing....

I'm just... surprised, that's all. You've only ever shown interest in men, so I just assumed.

Well, it, um, came as a surprise to me too! But I mean I'm glad it happened, because I kinda learned something new about myself!

Well, I figure there's nothing wrong with it at all, since love is love and it's not really something you can help or deal with!

But I'm glad it did! I'm just, um, not really sure how I should go about saying something. I know I don't really have any reason to be too nervous, but...

[Boy, does she know about being confused about feelings like this. It's been a recurring problem for Elsa for months now. But while she's unsure of how to help herself, she'll do whatever she can to help her sister.]

If whoever this girl is cares as much as a friend should care, then there's no reason to be too nervous, is there? I kn-- [WAIT NO NOT ABOUT HER] I'm sure that it's difficult to muster up the courage to confess such feelings.... but at the very least, you shouldn't be worried about letting them know about this part of yourself.

As a friend, they already love you for who you are. Something like this shouldn't change that.

Well, I shouldn't be surprised. She is one of the people you've known here the longest, correct?

[ Her face is almost as red as her hair now, hearing Elsa start to tease her like that, this is so embarrassing... ]

I mean, she's really great and all...she was one of my first friends here, b-but...

L-look, I'm just saying, she's got this awesome attitude! Like, she comes into a place and she's just like bam, y'know?!

She knows just what to say and just the way to say it in and she'll always tell you things like they are no matter what, so you know she's super-honest and trustworthy! But she's sweet as heck, too, like, if you ever have a problem she's gonna be right there with you and ready to help, too, and she's really nice, too, even if she's a little rough around the edges, and she has really good taste in sweets and in music and in clothes and, um, she's just...r-really cute...

... Wow, Anna. You sound completely smitten.

[Again, there's no teasing in her voice! She's rather charmed by her sister's rambling, actually... and it warms her heart a bit knowing that Anna's crush on Nonon isn't over some silly superficial reasons.

Her sister deserves someone nice. Someone who will be good to her. Someone tough who will look out for her when Elsa can't. And though she doesn't know Nonon as well as she could, from Anna's rambling and what little she's seen, she definitely seems like she could be that person.]

I-I am not! ...I-I mean, maybe a little, but... She's just, I mean, uh...

[She looks a little bit sheepish now that that's all out there and off her chest, a far cry from the energy that came from the nervous high of spilling everything to her sister. She's okay for now, after a couple of deep breaths, but still just a little bit embarrassed.]
