I looked at the date today, and I thought it would be fitting to bring up something I've been wondering for a while.

[It's been a while since Elsa got contemplative over the network. Thankfully, Elsa doesn't look all that upset or nervous, so it's nothing serious!]

Years pass here, and we all age. This is my second birthday in Johto; according to the calendar, I should be twenty-three today.

But that's only compared to how time passes here. What about back home? If we return home after spending years here, do we return as we were when we were first brought here? Or do we just... return to our land older, as we are now? I can't imagine how that might change things in our worlds, even if we have no memories of this place when we go home.

[... Okay yeah it did get kind of deep.]

It's curious, isn't it? Especially when one's taken from a date that doesn't match the date here when they first arrive.

I'm already starting to get a headache, I think. So I'll certainly take that advice.

Well, alternate realities are actually a well-known phenomenon in my world, at least among the Magi. But knowing they exist and studying them are two different things, and many of our members have proven to not have the... mental aptitude for dealing with it. Most of us just leave it to the experts.

That's... very interesting. So you must have had an easier time than most to adjust to waking up in these lands, then? If the concept isn't all that alien to you and the people from your world.

Well it was easy enough for me to figure out what had happened, but this would be the first time I've ever shifted realities myself. I'm still hardly an expert. Now someone like the legendary Zelretch, he could probably have given us all a lesson in how something like this came about, but I doubt he'll appear here.

From the way you talk about him, it seems like if he was here, we'd all be able to figure a way out. If that's true, then it's safe to say it would be impossible to ever see him here. He'd fix this mess in an instant.

... Assuming that this isn't all some recurring accident. I imagine that would be a little more difficult to find a solution for.

Unless his powers didn't work here... which is entirely possible. My magic doesn't, except during those times when everything goes mad.

Hm, true... but just because you can't use magic doesn't mean you can't make theories about it, correct? Just that enough might help. And our powers return to us sometimes, so if he can figure something out by the time one of those days arrives...

Fair enough. Not that it's likely to matter either way. And even if he did show up he probably wouldn't share his findings with me. He's not particularly enamored with my family.

But... surely trying to find a way out of here and back to our homes should trump a family grudge, don't you think?

You have clearly never met a Magus from my world before. In all honesty he'd probably be more likely to share his work with someone not from my world than he would with me.

Not that it particularly matters.
