[When the 'gear flicks on, the camera seems to be pointing at.... the ground. The ground, and a black-shoed foot. The camera shakes for a minute, and the voice of a young woman can be heard speaking.]

Is this strange device really meant to be used to communicate with others...? But how...

[It's then that a somewhat worried-looking Snorunt comes into view, its little arms raised. Whoever-it-was pauses before giving the device over to the creature. The camera then spins, and focuses on the owner of the voice; a pale, fair-haired young woman dressed in typical trainer clothes, looking very confused.]

I'm just not sure how I'm meant to-- [She's cut off by the Snorunt, who makes a few noises before moving closer and holding the pokegear up, getting a better view of the girl in the process. She sighs.] Okay... fine.

[She clears her throat and stands up straight, a rather regal-seeming posture for someone dressed in such casual clothes.] My name is Queen Elsa of Arendelle, and I'm afraid I've been kidnapped. I've been told that no, I really haven't been kidnapped, but... I can't exactly believe that, can I?

[Her brows furrow, then, and her shoulders seem to scrunch up a bit in a show of nervousness.] I need help. Information. If I can at least be told where exactly this "Johto" is, how far away I am from Arendelle... I would very much appreciate it. [She begins to wring her hands together, now clearly showing signs of someone who's deeply unsettled.] If there's any way at all to contact those back home... please... I need to know. My staff, my... my sister... they must be so worried....

[Her hands are now clenching each other tightly as she tries to calm herself, but it doesn't seem to be of any use. So, rather quickly, she approaches the Snorunt, taking the gear out of its hands and fumbling once more with it.] A-As I said, any help would be greatly appreciated. But for now, I'm afraid I must end this conversation. I apologize for how abrupt this is. G-Goodbye.

[Can't let them see, can't let them see--]

[Thankfully, she finds the right button to hit, and the screen goes dark.]

[ The screen is at first black. There's a sharp intake of breath and what sounds very much like a little girl's squeal. Then the sound of fumbling, and the screen clicks on to reveal what is indeed a little girl, staring into the camera and looking positively rapturous. ]

You're a queen?!

[Elsa looks a little flustered when she hears the squeal, but... that, at least, she can deal with. After all, she's had plenty of young girls react the same way when she finally left Arendelle Castle for the first time after she returned the kingdom to normal.]

Yes, I am. Though I doubt it means much now, in a land so far away from my own, filled with people from all sorts of different worlds....

Oh.

[ Mimi hadn't taken that into account when her royalty-fangirling impulse kicked in. Being a queen may not be the most important thing in the world when you have no one to rule over. Still... ]

Being a queen is still important! I mean, it's really hard work, right? You have to make sure you do what's best for everyone and not let the power go to your head and end up throwing your friends in jail! And that's really impressive... um, your majesty! [ Belatedly, Gear still in hand, Mimi sweeps an awkward curtsy. What is actually talking to royalty how does it work ]

[Elsa returns the gesture with a bow of her own. It's a little awkward doing it this way, but she doesn't want to be rude.]

Well yes, that's true. But I mean that I'm in the same boat as everyone else who was brought here, so I thought... it would be better to consider myself on equal ground as the rest of you.

You don't want people to treat you differently because you're a queen? I... guess I can understand that! [ She really can't. Why wouldn't you want everyone to treat you like a queen? Royalty have strange whims, she guesses. ]

Does that mean I shouldn't call you "your majesty"? [ Again: hard to understand. ] What do you want me to call you, your ma- um, miss? [ This may be difficult. ]

Just Elsa, is fine. [She feels bad, that she's making this poor girl nervous. And she knows she's probably being a bit selfish. But... this is a whole new experience for her. She wants to be on the same level as everyone else.]

And what can I call you?

Elsa-san? [ Mimi tries it out. Hope you're okay with honorifics, Elsa! ] My name's Mimi! Mimi Tachikawa! It's very nice to meet you! [ She decides to forgo the curtsy this time, which is probably easier on everyone. ]

So, can you tell me more about your kingdom? Is it in Europe? [ Mimi doesn't remember the name Elsa had given, but it certainly sounded Western enough. Foreign lands! So exciting! ]

[San...? She's not really sure what that's all about, being from sliiiightly before Japan began opening itself to the rest of the world.] Oh, um. Just Elsa. And it's very nice to meet you, Mimi.

And yes! It's in Europe. To the north, though not too far where it's terribly cold year-round. We're a rather small kingdom, focusing mainly on fishing and ice harvesting, but we're prosperous enough. And we've always been rather peaceful.

[ Elsa is probably going to have to get used to that honorific, because it ain't going anywhere. ]

Ice harvesting? I always wondered where ice came from! I guess I have you guys to thank every time I open my freezer! [ Mimi smiles. ] Your kingdom sounds like a really nice place! Is it pretty there?

Sometimes, yes. Obviously it's nearly impossible to ship it to far away kingdoms, but we do what we can to help our neighbors that way.

[A fond smile crosses her face at Mimi's second question.]

Arendelle is very beautiful. The castle my sister and I live in - and the surrounding village - is right on the shores of one of the larger fjords, with an extensive mountain range to the north.

The best thing about Arendelle, though, is seeing the lights that fill the sky at night.

Wow... [ Mimi is hanging on Elsa's every word. ] It really does sound beautiful. I can see why you'd want to get back there, Elsa-san! I mean, that and it being your home -

[ Okay, this probably isn't doing the poor woman any favors in regards to missing her kingdom. Quick, Mimi, subject change time! ]

I saw lights in the sky too! When my friends and I were at summer camp. Sora-san said it was an aurora! Oh, it was so romantic! That was right before we got sucked into another world, of course... That part wasn't very romantic at all!
