[When the 'gear flicks on, the camera seems to be pointing at.... the ground. The ground, and a black-shoed foot. The camera shakes for a minute, and the voice of a young woman can be heard speaking.]

Is this strange device really meant to be used to communicate with others...? But how...

[It's then that a somewhat worried-looking Snorunt comes into view, its little arms raised. Whoever-it-was pauses before giving the device over to the creature. The camera then spins, and focuses on the owner of the voice; a pale, fair-haired young woman dressed in typical trainer clothes, looking very confused.]

I'm just not sure how I'm meant to-- [She's cut off by the Snorunt, who makes a few noises before moving closer and holding the pokegear up, getting a better view of the girl in the process. She sighs.] Okay... fine.

[She clears her throat and stands up straight, a rather regal-seeming posture for someone dressed in such casual clothes.] My name is Queen Elsa of Arendelle, and I'm afraid I've been kidnapped. I've been told that no, I really haven't been kidnapped, but... I can't exactly believe that, can I?

[Her brows furrow, then, and her shoulders seem to scrunch up a bit in a show of nervousness.] I need help. Information. If I can at least be told where exactly this "Johto" is, how far away I am from Arendelle... I would very much appreciate it. [She begins to wring her hands together, now clearly showing signs of someone who's deeply unsettled.] If there's any way at all to contact those back home... please... I need to know. My staff, my... my sister... they must be so worried....

[Her hands are now clenching each other tightly as she tries to calm herself, but it doesn't seem to be of any use. So, rather quickly, she approaches the Snorunt, taking the gear out of its hands and fumbling once more with it.] A-As I said, any help would be greatly appreciated. But for now, I'm afraid I must end this conversation. I apologize for how abrupt this is. G-Goodbye.

[Can't let them see, can't let them see--]

[Thankfully, she finds the right button to hit, and the screen goes dark.]

[Anna had nearly flailed and dropped the Gear right out of her hand (and her poor Espurr had nearly fell off her head) the second she saw her sister's face on the screen. Honestly, she wasn't really sure how to react; on some level, she was pretty thrilled that her sister had managed to find her way here. To see her so distressed was a bit unsettling for her...she was expecting that New Bark Town was probably going to be getting a few flurries, but, to be fair, considering how upset she appeared, she was surprised that there wasn't already a stormfront coming in.

It didn't matter, though. The second Elsa's message finished, Anna called her right away. Thank goodness she's in Violet...if she runs and jumps down all the ledges, she can probably meet up with Cherrygrove in no time at all.

Of course, though, first Elsa needed answers, and there's obviously no one better to give them than her sister herself, right?]

Don't worry, Elsa. I'm here, too.

[It takes a few moments for Anna to get a response, since Elsa is still baffled over how this strange contraption works, but soon enough, she'll be treated to her sister's worried face again.]

Anna!?

[Yeah, Elsa can't keep the shock out of her voice at that. She's.... not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing. On one hand, hearing her sister's voice calms her down a lot. On the other... her sister's stuck in this cruddy situation as well.]

They took you as well... t-this isn't good at all...

[The subject of this broadcast felt all too familiar to Veronica. She'd been concerned in the same ways when she arrived here, believing herself to be kidnapped and wanting nothing more than to go back home and be with her family.

It wasn't happening. And, while she was still of the mindset that someone kidnapped them, she still hadn't gotten closer to figuring out who was responsible.

It was still weird, giving answers and just holding conversations with random people. But, it seemed she had to adapt. She connects to Elsa's pokegear a minute or so after the message finishes, giving the queen a good look at her face, as well as the stitches on it. She'd never talked to a queen before. Maybe this could be interesting.]

I still believe we've been kidnapped somehow. But... it's different from a normal kidnapping. You're allowed to do whatever you please, only you're unable to go home.

[That doesn't really help Elsa completely calm down, but... she seems a little less on the verge of an utter panic attack. So that's.... good, right? She still looks super worried though, because wow, there are more people involved with this...that's gunna just make things even more complicated.]

I'm afraid that being kidnapped may not be all that far from the truth. This place takes people from many different places and walks of life, seemingly at random. I'm sorry to say that you are most assuredly very far from your Arendelle. I myself don't come from a world that has anywhere called that.

If you don't mind me asking, what is the name of your world? Perhaps I may have met other people from yours here, and I can put you in contact with them.

[That's... strange. Not the bit about this man not knowing Arendelle, since it's certainly not the largest kingdom, but asking her what the name of her world is. Understandably, Elsa looks confused.]

[A Queen? Just by looking at her, he never would've guessed, but then again, that's what happens when you wind up with new duds. But duds or not, it's easy to pick up on her distress. A new world, and by the sound of it, one totally different from what she's used to.

So, how to react? Chances are, she's already gotten some help, and the last thing he wants is to overwhelm her. So what to do?

I'm afraid there's no easy way back, but that doesn't mean you'll be stuck here forever. I don't know if they've got gambling back in your world, but you could think of it like drawing names out of a hat. It's completely random who leaves and when it'll happen, but there's always a chance. Until then, this world's not half-bad. Crazy, but usually harmless.

It's still horrible that so many people have ended up here, and that there's no way of getting home... but it's a bit comforting knowing that this wasn't orchestrated by someone who might have a grudge against me or my kingdom.

[ The screen is at first black. There's a sharp intake of breath and what sounds very much like a little girl's squeal. Then the sound of fumbling, and the screen clicks on to reveal what is indeed a little girl, staring into the camera and looking positively rapturous. ]

[Elsa looks a little flustered when she hears the squeal, but... that, at least, she can deal with. After all, she's had plenty of young girls react the same way when she finally left Arendelle Castle for the first time after she returned the kingdom to normal.]

Yes, I am. Though I doubt it means much now, in a land so far away from my own, filled with people from all sorts of different worlds....

I won't lie, a vacation does sound nice. I love my kingdom and I love doing what I can to help them, but... it does get stressful sometimes. The fact that everything will be okay while I'm gone certainly helps out a lot.

That seems to be what everyone else I've talked to is saying. It's still a bit worrying to hear, but... I've certainly read enough stories about different realms. The concept isn't completely alien to me, but it's still odd to encounter it first-hand.
