Fifth Flake [video/action for Goldenrod/4th Wall]
[When Elsa woke up today, she had known something was... different. There was a feeling inside of her that she hasn't felt in months now, a feeling she thought she'd never miss as badly as she did; the familiar him of magic was buzzing under her skin for the first time since she arrived in this land, and instead of dreading that feeling... Elsa smiles. Gathering her things, and without waiting up for Anna, she leaves the Pokemon Center, heading to the north end of Goldenrod, where she knew a small park was, not far from the gates of the city.]
Alright... time to wake up, everyone. I've got something to show you!
[With a quick toss, Elsa releases her team - Snowball, Skadi, Freya, Frigga, Idunn, and Surtr. All of them look curious and eager at Elsa's words, and while Elsa sets her bag down and looks around to make sure that there's nobody in the immediate vicinity, Surtr grabs her pokegear and pokes at it until it turns on.]
Okay... ready?
[After a chorus of agreements from her pokemon, Elsa grins, takes a deep breath, and raises her arms.
For those watching in person, they might notice the weather dropping, even more from its already chilly state. And when snow suddenly appears surrounding Elsa and her little group, it might not seem like too much... except none of her ice-types are moving. In fact, they all look quite surprised.
With a flick of her wrists, Elsa commands the snow to swirl around her in a light flurry. Her smile brightens as another twist of her wrist sends the flurry outward, the flakes multiplying until the ground surrounding Elsa is covered in several inches of snow.
Elsa is grinning like a child now. Just one more test to see if she really does have control after this long... it takes a bit of focus, but she wills the snow to move and shape itself, to breathe, and before the eyes of her pokemon (and human) onlookers, an icy replica of a Charizard - not just a Charizard, but the strange new form Nova had taken in the battle against Archie - spreads its wings and lets out a roar as clear as the real thing..]
Even after all this time, after being so out of practice... I can still control it.
[She looks absolutely overjoyed. Like nothing in the world can bring down her good mood. And her pokemon sure seem to share her enthusiasm, judging by how most of them immediately leap into the little snow drifts surrounding them.]

[Like now she's moving those hands again, making it look like a giant snowflake before she blows a little to freeze the water into ice.]
no subject
The way your magic changes like that... do you know how to defend yourself with it?
no subject
Yeah, very well actually. My home world can be really dangerous, especially for me, so I've been taught to attack and defend just about ever since I remember. ...Why?
no subject
no subject
I guess our worlds are very different, or well, maybe not everyone in mine knows how to fight even if they can control an element. Still, even if it wasn't any sort of proper fighting style, I think it's important to know how to defend yourself.
But not learning how to fight and defend myself wasn't really an option for me. Not that I mind, but I was kept in my home city until I was seventeen to train my skills.
...Then I kind of ran away, but it all went well in the end.
[Well except in her canon point, but she doesn't need to think about that. Much.]
no subject
[Yeah, that. That kind of resonates with Elsa a bit.]
no subject
Sort of? My airbending teacher couldn't stay where I live, so I followed him to the big city by running away from home. Their place is like my second home now, but I was really frustrated with being confined in one city for so many years.
no subject
I understand how that feels. For a long time, I was isolated in my room in a rather lonely part of the castle. Even if it was mostly of my own accord, it was still... unpleasant.
no subject
In just one room? [geez, even inside a city was bad enough for her.] Why would anyone want to keep you, or anyone, locked in just one room?
[Well, unless they're a dangerous criminal like Zaheer and the others, but... No, in a case like a girl as sweet as Elsa, she really doesn't get it at all.]
no subject
[There's a long pause here, as Elsa watches Naga and her pokemon playing in the snow. She's never really told anyone about her past like this, and it makes her quite nervous.
(is it getting a little chillier out?)
But... she understands isolation, right? So... it'd be okay?]
My powers were unstable for most of my life. So my father thought it would be a good idea to keep me away from people until I learned to control them. To protect them and myself.
no subject
(and if it's getting a little chillier here, Korra sure doesn't notice it... much.)]
Did it work? [She looks around.] Or I can see, that you can control them now, but to learn it all by yourself in that kind of a situation...
[uh, no one should be put into that situation for any reason, but then again if having powers in her world is rare... well, she's seen the new airbenders in her world, those kind of seemed like their life suddenly got all crazy too if there's something she can compare it to.]
no subject
[There's another, longer pause before she admit that. This... this is what she still has trouble talking about. That her father, his efforts, his plan... they were wrong. It's still difficult to admit that all the late king's actions did - however good his intentions - was hurt her.
Still, it speaks of how far Elsa's come that all that's happening is a further drop in temperature, instead of a hailstorm of jagged icicles bursting from the ground.]
If anything, it made it worse. Nobody else in my world - or my kingdom, at the very least - had magic like mine, so nobody could properly teach me how to control it. So the only thing I was taught was how to suppress it.
... What made this such a hard thing to do was the fact that my magic is tied closely with my emotions. To try and confine magic within you is one thing. To confine your emotions like that is something completely different.
no subject
She notices the drop in temperature this time, realizing where it's from before she even hears the emotions part because well, where else would it be from? Naga is not barking, so nothing weird is coming to them -- though the dog is starting to look a little worried for her owner. Then again she also knows that this is Korra and Korra can handle anything, so she's not too worried there.
Suppressing it... Confining her emotions like that... No, a whole universe full of no. All of that is so painful to even hear, she can't even imagine what telling it or going through it must have been for her.]
...I'm ... really sorry you had to go through all that, I can't even imagine what's it like considering I probably could never confine my emotions for so long -- or suppress my bending either.
[Korra is such a fierce and emotional and still somewhat impatient Avatar, that she just couldn't confine them even long enough to go with a current plan. And she has so much compassion for Elsa, it's really hard to not just rush to hug her. But instead of rushing, Korra takes a few steps to get closer to her.]
But you're fine now, right? I hope so, at least, and I'm honestly really amazed how much you've done just by yourself. Almost everyone has had teachers for their bending in my world, myself included. I know it's not easy to get in control of powers you're born with and it takes a lot of time and training to control it all even where I'm from.
[Hi. This is Korra offering a hug -- trying to look like it's okay, she's basically a fire and ice breathing girl, so she's not even worried about her powers at all.]
no subject
Now I am, yes. I did some stupid things, some things I... regret greatly. Things I'm not proud of. But all that's behind me. Now? I couldn't be happier.
Even here. [She motions to the city around them.] I thought it would be horrible, to be trapped here away from my kingdom. But it's so much better than I could've ever imagined.
oooops, let's hope asami isn't jealous for this tag
She looks around when the other girl / young woman motions around them and there's that amazement in her face, and on that smile, again.
No, okay. She really needs to hug her, right now. So Korra reaches out to Elsa's left shoulder.]
Hey. [pause, and a very big sister like gentle smile on face again.
Korra, she's older than you] We all make some stupid things and things, that we regret greatly and things we're not proud of. I think I still have many of those to do back home... [She's really not from a good point of time, ooops. But as she said, it's all behind her.][and then with a small laugh.] It is a really great place to be trapped into, it's like a vacation.
[Her kingdom? Korra does acknowledge that she's in front of a queen, but do titles really mean anything here? She? Not an Avatar here, just a normal girl, who thinks Elsa could use a hug right now. Does she need to ask for a queen's permission to give one?
Well, she won't ask for permission! She respects royalty, sure, especially when their personality is like this, but honestly she sees her more like a very good potential friend than royalty and -- well, fight her if she isn't allowed to do it just like that. She's a rebel for not asking then! Or well, fighting Korra now while her powers are back would actually be a really bad idea.
Her hand is still on Elsa's shoulder and she kind of just stops thinking and talking, wrapping her arms around the older girl. Sorry, she's not even anything like awkward about it at all, worlds's best hugbender right here. Oh right, she left something unsaid up there.]
I'm really glad you're happy now - even here. You really deserve all the happiness you can get after all that.
[Everyone deserves happiness and peace. Well, not exactly everyone, just almost everyone.]
shhh I'm sure she understands
It's okay. She's a friend. You can't hurt her without your magic.
It's only after repeating that in her head a few times that Elsa begins to relax, and ever so slowly, returns the hug. She's still rather stiff, but... it's something. A big improvement.]
... Thank you, Korra.
no subject
She's probably used to hugging people, who are not very improved with their powers anyway considering she's from the world where ice/water and other element magic is completely normal and she was locked up into a place where new waterbenders are born and grow up.
Korra smiles when Elsa hugs her back. She accepts all kind of hugs, really, and she's just so glad that Elsa doesn't push away. Sure, this is probably really weird for her, suddenly being hugged by someone who she doesn't know really well, but Korra on the other hand is an extremely affectionate person, who generally hugs almost every good acquiantance without hesitation.
So her hug is not stiff at all. She's just very calm and trying to be as soothing as possible to make Elsa relax there.]
Anytime, really. If you ever want to talk more about it or anything else, the inbox of my gear is always open in case I'm not around on the network.
no subject
Thank you. I'll try not to be too much of a bother, but... it's nice. Knowing I have someone other than Anna to talk to.
no subject
You could never be a bother, so don't worry about that... I hope I'll meet Anna too one day.
[But you know, eventually she will let go of that hug. Still smiling at her, staying pretty close but pulling her hands back to herself.]
So, do you want to have fun instead of this? For change. This thing with we getting our powers back is not going to last for very long, it never does. But I'm an amazing waterbender if I do say so myself and we could do this ice magic together?
