Oh, that much I know. However I feel about this situation, I still like this person... the last thing I want to do is upset her or anger her more than I already have.
[Elsa hesitates, then. She says she doesn't want to upset Lightning anymore, but with how Lightning was the last time they talked, Elsa's sure she already failed at that...]
Of course. And... I think if you continue to be earnest in that, you're doing the best you can. Things like this can be hard, because... even when we have the best intentions, we can still end up hurting people. And it always gets messy when you're trying to sort through other internal emotions at the same time.
[Elsa laughs, and the sound comes out a bit hollow.]
I wish someone had told me that thirteen years ago. Even outside of a romantic sense.... I hurt way too many people when I had only the best intentions in mind.
[There's a pause, but only a brief one. After all, Henry was so open to her.... it's only fair that she's open to him in return.]
The anniversary of my coronation is very soon. That in itself wasn't a bad thing. It was a good party, really! But...
[Another short pause.]
Until then, I was hiding my powers away from everyone, including my sister. Nobody knew about them, because my father and I were afraid the people would react negatively. I'd had... a lot of trouble controlling them, before then... mostly under times of extreme pressure.
So when Anna and I had an argument right there in the middle of the party, there was an... accident. My powers flared up without my permission.[Her shoulders slump a bit. She's still ashamed of that, of how easily she could've killed someone...] I panicked, and ran away, and... something happened.
I don't know how, but my magic... it cursed my kingdom. Even in the middle of summer, snow began to fall, and it just kept getting colder and colder...
[oh no. oh noooooo. Right from the beginning Henry can completely understand where she's coming from -- in their first conversation, they talked about this... he was never one to hide his magic. People reacted negatively. Henry got pissed off, everyone died. And then Anna came into Elsa's picture, and she lost her home, and oh god why.]
[He just sits there for a few moments, attempting to register the information she'd just given him and realizing that she told him before and he FORGOT. He's making no attempt to hide the shock and dread on his face.]
[She has to stop herself from saying it's okay, because it's obviously not, considering Elsa's earlier post and how her voice wavers as she speaks.]
It all turned out all right in the end, and everyone was okay. But even so... I think-- no, I know I must have upset a lot of people after all that. And I might have hurt a lot of people as well.
You're in Ecruteak, right? I'm just asking 'cause I'm here today, and I thought maybe we could hang out or something. Get lunch, check out whatever there is to check out here...
[It's weird, having so good a friend but never actually seeing her in real life. He doesn't want to pass up a chance to spend some in person time together.]
Nah, I hit Goldenrod and ended up settling down. There's a little girl there, I kind of look after her... but I'm heading down to Mt. Mortar with a little buddy of mine, and we're stopping over here to get supplies and rest up. I don't know anything about this place.
[ Asami has been following this mess ever since she learned about it, and she couldn't help but follow along with Elsa's conversation with the Lucario. Which means... she has a pretty good idea of how Elsa is doing before she even knocks on the door. ]
[ Asami isn't impressed with this situation at all. It always bubbles back up with the same outcome. Elsa gets upset. She doesn't know all the facts, so it isn't your place to say much, but she can't help but get frustrated. ]
[ Her face is leveled to concern, though, when she knocks on Elsa's hotel room door. Now isn't the time to get angry. ]
[Sometimes, Elsa thinks she's getting better at this whole coping with guilt thing. Before the conversation with Lightning's Lucario, she'd been able to talk to her once-friend with something resembling normalcy. But then this happened... and now? Now she can't help but keep kicking herself.
She's glad that Anna went out for a while, before the mood started heavily sinking in. Unfortunately for her, it looks like she won't be able to sulk in silence.]
[... Uh oh. That look, combined with that choice of words, never spells out anything good...
Still. Elsa can't say no to Asami. So she nods towards one of the chairs in the room - her hands are too busy wringing themselves into knots for her to point.]
[She wants to lie. She really does. But she knows that just her reaction to Asami bringing this up, and with her words to Lightning's Lucario... it would be useless to lie at this point.]
I... I don't know. [She sighs, rubbing her hands together.] Every time I think I can start to put what happened behind me... it's just brought up again, and the wound reopens.
Good afternoon, I have the script for the first half of your radio drama. We have so many people, I'm doing two separate stories. I've attached the first script as a text file, your casting is listed at the top.
[.... OF COURSE ELSA GETS STUCK PLAYING A WOMAN WITH GLOVE ISSUES AT THE MERCY OF A DECEPTIVE MAN WHO ONLY WANTS TO BE WITH HER FOR DARK ULTERIOR MOTIVES
Man this is giving her Hans flashbacks. But still, she smiles!!]
Hmm, I don't think it's too frightening... quite suspenseful, yes, but I don't think anything here will give children nightmares.
