Tenth Flake [video]

[When the video flocks on, it shows Elsa, looking... a bit thoughtful. Not in a moody way like she was in her last post, judging by the lack of any trouble on her face, but.... it takes a moment for her to realize the recording started before she speaks.]

I checked the date today, and I only just realized something. Today is the one year anniversary of my arrival in Johto. [There's a pause, and she laughs, looking a bit embarrassed.] I promise this won't be as messy as the last time I talked about an "anniversary". That... got a little bit out of hand.

[A shake of the head, and with a sigh, her embarrassment fades.]

I've just... been thinking a lot today. The things I've done here, the people I've met.... they changed me. In ways I don't think I would've been able to change back home. I've learned a lot about the world and other people, and even discovered some things about myself I didn't know before. All thanks to the people here.

I suppose I should thank all of the people I've talked to here. Even if we've only spoken once, you've done much to help me, and for that, I'm forever grateful.

She smiles, then, a bright and brilliant thing.]

[Elsa rolls her eyes a little, but does as she's asked, and blows the candles out in one go.]

There we go. Just as you asked, your highness.

[ Poor Anna has to catch her breath after saying the last part of that sentence so quickly (though she did manage to keep it in tune, at least!), but she's still laughing as Elsa blows the candles out. ]

Look, you're the queen here, I'm just the humble, modest princess. ...But good job, nonetheless!

Humble....

[... Right.]

So, princess, would you like the first slice of cake?

You say that as if I'm not!

[ She smirks just a bit at that, but shakes her head. Something about being called that is a little different, now. ]

You have it, though, anniversary girl.

What if I want you to have the first slice, though?

[She says, even as she begins cutting it...] Are you allowed to go against my wishes on an anniversary?

Look, it may be an anniversary, but it'd be bad if you didn't get first dibs! You have to be the tester, you know! I'm trusting you to see whether it's good or not!

[Elsa raises an eyebrow, grin still in place.]

Demanding a queen be a food tester... you know, once upon a time, royals had their servants do such a thing for them. [... for a much more morbid reason, but she's not going to bring that up without a little prodding...] Are you really implying that I should do the work of a servant, Anna?

Hey, if you want to let me try it first and be jealous of me and my awesome first slice of cake, be my guest! But I'm gonna make sure to be as tantalizing with it as I can, and do you really want that?

[RUDE???? Elsa huffs.]

Wow, Anna. Wow. I try to be nice and give you the first slice, and you turn around and rub it in my face like that? So cruel...!

I was giving you the first slice, you're the one being stubborn!

Just because I wanted to help you! [Elsa nudges Anna with her elbow.] Is that so bad, really?

It's not, but it's your anniversary, so you should eat it first!

... We're just going to keep going in circles with this, aren't we?

...We'll split the first slice!

... An excellent compromise!

And just like that, I'm some kind of genius!

[She cuts the first slice in half, and...]

Okay, we take the first bite on three, okay? One, two, three!

I never doubted that you were very smart, Anna.

[Thought still lighthearted, it's said without any kind of joking tone as she scoops up a forkful of cake, biting into it at the same time as Anna does.]

... Mmm!

Oh my gosh, this is really good! So much chocolate...

[ She's practically scarfing down the rest of it, gosh, Anna, control yourself... ]

[Elsa, of course, is eating much more modestly, but she's still... eating it pretty quickly.]

Are you sure this is cake, and not just a semi-melted brick of chocolate?

Personally, I don't have a problem with either option...

[Elsa lets out a somewhat unladylike snort at that.]

Oh, trust me, that wasn't a complaint at all!

You'll have to show me which shop you got it from! I'd love to see what else they have, if their cakes are this good....
