... Well. Hm. This is new.

[Not the sudden chilly rush washing over her, and the return of the pleasant coolness in her gut that she now knows is the signal that her powers are returning. She's been through this twice now, and to be honest, she wasn't even going to bother doing much today, assuming she didn't get zapped off to some other city miles away like she's heard others complain about before. She was just going to go about her day, maybe make a few flurries for her pokemon to enjoy while they spent time outside, and just. Not bother with the network much.

But this time was different. Only a few minutes after she left the inn, she was accosted by a bird. And not just any bird. A rather large, elegant-looking blue bird. But instead of attacking her or her pokemon, it just sort of. Cuddled up to her.

And it still is when Elsa records this video. It's making soft cooing noises as it nuzzles the top of her head. The poor snow queen just seems absolutely bewildered, reaching up every once in a while to try and fix her mussed-up hair.]

I've... never seen a pokemon like this before. And it won't leave me alone? It's not aggressive, as you can tell, but every time I walk away, it just... keeps following me.

[And right she is. All throughout the day as she makes her usual rounds around Ecruteak and chats with residents and visitors, the Articuno is there with her, either following right behind her or perching on nearby buildings and watching over her.]

[ Pictured: One uptight loser flanked by a fire chicken. That's sure a thing that's happening. Clearly there are stranger creatures here than even back home, and he's not even going to get started on that giant bird. When you're friends with the Avatar, you tend to get used to weird stuff pretty quickly.

He's suddenly a lot more interested when he sees her using her powers, though. ]

That's some pretty impressive bending.

[Dipper had been walking around, making notes in his journal about all of the different creatures he's seen around. There's a Cleffa waddling alongside him with a big smile on her face. He stops when he see's something catch his attention, looking up to see a giant blue bird following a pretty lady.]

Whoa! What's that one called?

No way!

[ Leave it to Elsa to have a goshdarn Legendary Pokemon following her around... ]

Elsa, you realize that's, like, a one-of-a-kind Pokemon, right?!

Bending?

[Gee Mako you are SO LUCKY that Asami and Korra haven't mentioned you at all before. All Elsa does when she hears that is perk up a little, a curious look on her face. Oh hey, is this boy from the same world that her friends are from...?]

Oh! Um... it's not quite bending. But similar enough, I suppose.

... Wait, what?

[Elsa looks up, eyebrows scrunching together in confusion as she examines the bird. Articuno, on the other hand, seems blissfully unaware of its new friend's confusion.]

What do you mean? I've never seen one like this before, true, but...

[ He sure is and a piece of work at that. Still, it doesn't make him look any less impressed. She seems extremely at home with the flurries. ]

Not bending, [ he repeats, and you can practically see the question marks over his head. ] What is it, then?

[ it's magic, you doofus ]

I actually... don't know.

[She lets out a small noise of frustration, but the bird seems blissfully unaware of it as it continues to cuddle up to Elsa. She sighs, caving just a bit and reaching up to scratch the bird's neck feathers.]

I've been here for over a year now and I can't say I've seen anything like it before.

Magic.

[Duh. She hopes that's good enough; with all the talk of bending and spirits from Asami and Korra, she... assumes that regular magic isn't really a farfetched thing where they come from.]

I can manipulate snow and ice, but I don't need any sort of complicated movements to do so, like bending does.

You've really never seen it in books or anything? The ones about the towers?

You remember that one Pokemon from the other tower, the one that was so powerful that it went down into the ocean?

It's not just the guardian of the sea, it also keeps, like, the elements in check too! It's supposed to keep harmony between three birds, a fire one, a lightning one, and an ice one! And that's the ice one! And you're cuddling with it!

[ He at least seems to accept that. Mako crosses his arms, nodding. ]

If you're familiar with bending--are there people here who know about it?

[ Because she... doesn't look like anyone from his world, anyway. ]

I've read about the legends of the towers before! But I've only ever heard of the bests that were brought back to life. Not the birds that were looked after by the Pokemon who never returned to the towers.

[She huffs a little. Geez, Anna, you should know by now that your sister is a bit of a nerd when it comes to myths and legends...

Her annoyance fades quickly, though, and she looks back up at the bird, who makes a soft cooing noise again and gently bumps its head against Elsa's, causing her to laugh as she stumbles a little.]

I guess I shouldn't be all that surprised that I'm attracting even legendary ice-types, hmm?

[repeat: you are very lucky she has no idea who you are, Mako.]

Oh, yes. Two of my very dear friends are familiar with it, though only one is able to utilize it. [A warm smile crosses her face. It's clear that she considers them very important to her.] Korra is the one able to bend, and her friend Asami Sato is here as well.

[ There's a smile on his end, too. ]

Korra and Asami do kind... of...

[ wait ]

They're here?

Well, clearly you didn't hear enough of the legend! Though if I remember right, those three birds are from Kanto, not Johto...so I wonder why it's here?

Seriously, though, that Pokemon is, like, able to make snow fall just by flapping its wings! Or, at least, that's what the legends say! It's incredible! And you're friends with it! That's amazing! I'm so jealous!

[... Well! That sure does surprise Elsa a bit!]

Oh! Are they friends of yours?

Friends. Yes. We've known each other for a time. A--a long time.

[ awkward. ]

[Okay, that makes something click in Elsa's head.]

Oh! I've heard about legendary birds in Kanto, but I haven't gotten around to reading about the legends from the other regions. That's why I didn't recognize it immediately.

... But if there's a fire bird as well, just you wait. I'm sure that one will come to you, if this one came to me.

Ahhhh, that makes more sense! It's kind of crazy to think a Pokemon here could have an effect on Pokemon all the way in Kanto...but I mean, it wouldn't be the first legendary Pokemon we've ever seen, right?

[She says, hesitantly reaching out to pet the big ice bird...]

The fire one is really cool, too, though. It's, like, a bird that's actually on fire.

[Elsa laughs, but it's a bit halfhearted this time.]

Honestly, given the circumstances, I can't exactly... look fondly on those times we've seen legendary pokemon with our own eyes.

[All that fighting and chaos... kinda spoils the awe of seeing a beast of legend in the flesh, doesn't it?]

[Good thing Elsa is sort of oblivious when it comes to matters of the heart and awkwardness that may surround it. She isn't picking up on it just yet.]

Well, that's excellent! Any friend of theirs is certainly welcome to be a friend of mine.

Oh, come on, you can't say that it wasn't even a little bit fun...

[She looks a little bit reluctant, but... a smile makes its way back to her face despite that.]

All right, it was pretty interesting fighting the leader of Team Aqua that one time. Mainly because of those odd changes that Marlin and Nova underwent.

The whole thing was fun! Come on, it might be a little bit hectic, but that's what makes it so great, y'know? Just this crazy scenario where anything can happen and the action is just, y'know, boom!

A little hectic? [Elsa laughs in disbelief.] Anna, they were trying to control beasts of legend to destroy everything! That's more than just a little, in my opinion!
