Eleventh Flake [Video/Action for Ecruteak]

... Well. Hm. This is new.

[Not the sudden chilly rush washing over her, and the return of the pleasant coolness in her gut that she now knows is the signal that her powers are returning. She's been through this twice now, and to be honest, she wasn't even going to bother doing much today, assuming she didn't get zapped off to some other city miles away like she's heard others complain about before. She was just going to go about her day, maybe make a few flurries for her pokemon to enjoy while they spent time outside, and just. Not bother with the network much.

But this time was different. Only a few minutes after she left the inn, she was accosted by a bird. And not just any bird. A rather large, elegant-looking blue bird. But instead of attacking her or her pokemon, it just sort of. Cuddled up to her.

And it still is when Elsa records this video. It's making soft cooing noises as it nuzzles the top of her head. The poor snow queen just seems absolutely bewildered, reaching up every once in a while to try and fix her mussed-up hair.]

I've... never seen a pokemon like this before. And it won't leave me alone? It's not aggressive, as you can tell, but every time I walk away, it just... keeps following me.

[And right she is. All throughout the day as she makes her usual rounds around Ecruteak and chats with residents and visitors, the Articuno is there with her, either following right behind her or perching on nearby buildings and watching over her.]

[ Pictured: One uptight loser flanked by a fire chicken. That's sure a thing that's happening. Clearly there are stranger creatures here than even back home, and he's not even going to get started on that giant bird. When you're friends with the Avatar, you tend to get used to weird stuff pretty quickly.

He's suddenly a lot more interested when he sees her using her powers, though. ]

[Gee Mako you are SO LUCKY that Asami and Korra haven't mentioned you at all before. All Elsa does when she hears that is perk up a little, a curious look on her face. Oh hey, is this boy from the same world that her friends are from...?]

Oh! Um... it's not quite bending. But similar enough, I suppose.

[ He sure is and a piece of work at that. Still, it doesn't make him look any less impressed. She seems extremely at home with the flurries. ]

Not bending, [ he repeats, and you can practically see the question marks over his head. ] What is it, then?

[ it's magic, you doofus ]

Magic.

[Duh. She hopes that's good enough; with all the talk of bending and spirits from Asami and Korra, she... assumes that regular magic isn't really a farfetched thing where they come from.]

I can manipulate snow and ice, but I don't need any sort of complicated movements to do so, like bending does.

[Dipper had been walking around, making notes in his journal about all of the different creatures he's seen around. There's a Cleffa waddling alongside him with a big smile on her face. He stops when he see's something catch his attention, looking up to see a giant blue bird following a pretty lady.]

Whoa! What's that one called?

I actually... don't know.

[She lets out a small noise of frustration, but the bird seems blissfully unaware of it as it continues to cuddle up to Elsa. She sighs, caving just a bit and reaching up to scratch the bird's neck feathers.]

I've been here for over a year now and I can't say I've seen anything like it before.

[He nods and sits down, doodling the bird in his journal.]

So it's big blue bird... what type is it? That might help with figuring out what it is. What do you think, Mabel?

[The Cleffa at his side blinks and looks up at the bird. She gives the bird a big smile and a wave. Hi! What are you?]

[Birds can't wave, obviously, but Articuno does spread its wings with a happy noise. With one light flap - just enough to ruffle Elsa and Dipper's clothes - a light flurry bursts forth, and Elsa can't help but laugh.]

Well. I suppose it answered that for you, didn't it?

No way!

[ Leave it to Elsa to have a goshdarn Legendary Pokemon following her around... ]

Elsa, you realize that's, like, a one-of-a-kind Pokemon, right?!

... Wait, what?

[Elsa looks up, eyebrows scrunching together in confusion as she examines the bird. Articuno, on the other hand, seems blissfully unaware of its new friend's confusion.]

What do you mean? I've never seen one like this before, true, but...

You've really never seen it in books or anything? The ones about the towers?

You remember that one Pokemon from the other tower, the one that was so powerful that it went down into the ocean?

It's not just the guardian of the sea, it also keeps, like, the elements in check too! It's supposed to keep harmony between three birds, a fire one, a lightning one, and an ice one! And that's the ice one! And you're cuddling with it!

I've read about the legends of the towers before! But I've only ever heard of the bests that were brought back to life. Not the birds that were looked after by the Pokemon who never returned to the towers.

[She huffs a little. Geez, Anna, you should know by now that your sister is a bit of a nerd when it comes to myths and legends...

Her annoyance fades quickly, though, and she looks back up at the bird, who makes a soft cooing noise again and gently bumps its head against Elsa's, causing her to laugh as she stumbles a little.]

I guess I shouldn't be all that surprised that I'm attracting even legendary ice-types, hmm?

[This place wasn't like anything back home or Nautilus even! Anna had gone to sleep in Bag End and woken up in a completely different world! She thought it was Helix at first, but it wasn't. Someone had called it Johto. The little otter thing walking around behind her was also a clue as to her not being where she should be.

As she walks around, the rather blue bird on the roof catches her attention.]

Olaf! Look! It's like a blue phoenix!

[Elsa, of course, doesn't seem to notice anything is off here. Anna might, though; Elsa's hair is longer, her bangs hanging loose around her face instead of iced back into place like they usually are, and she just sort of... holds herself differently. More openly.

Okay, to say Elsa doesn't notice something different is somewhat of a lie, because she's looking at Anna's companion with one eyebrow raised.]

Hey... since when have you had one of those?

[Anna's face falls flat. This was not who she was expecting to see here of all places. It was like a wish came true, but her sister looks different.

Who's kidding! Anna races over to her sister and hugs her tightly.]

Elsa! You're here! I missed you so much!

[She pulls away far enough to bounce on her feet.] I thought you'd come to Nautilus, not this place. And when did you change your hair? I like it! Though your other hairstyle was beautiful, too.

Silly, we just saw each other this morning!

[There isn't any hesitation at all when Elsa wraps her arms around Anna, and that might also be a hint that something is off here...

Of course, now it's Elsa's turn to be confused.]

Nautilus? Where is that? And my hair isn't... any different at all...

[A little bit ruffled because of Articuno's affections, but it's not that bad...!]

It's one of the three legendary birds of the Kanto region. The ice type, specifically.

[Elsa can't help but laugh, even as Articuno's nuzzles ruffle up her hair again.]

It's made that quite clear now, I th- oh!

[She hadn't been able to see the speaker, but when she turns to face them... she can't stop the look of surprise from crossing her face. Well that's... different.]

Okay so it is that time of the time, I almost thought it was thought I was having a dream for a second.

[He really should have known better but most of the time it's been weirder then just people with legendaries.]

Congratulation, lady you picked up an Articuno.

[Elsa laughs.]

Even here, if things seem too good to be true, they usually are, yes?

[Not that Elsa's complaining.]

Even if this is only temporary, I'm glad I've gotten the chance to meet a legendary pokemon without the chaos that the past couple of Novembers have brought with them.

Technically the world is in chaos right now, it's just that it is more expected than usual. This time has been sort of tame for me at least.

Well, by chaos I mean battles of absurd proportions. There was that... thing a few weeks ago, and last year there was the battle between Team Aqua and Team Magma last year. That's a bit more chaos than usual.

But I agree... the influx of temporary visitors and strangeness hasn't been all that odd this time around. [She huffs, just a little.] And I'm very glad for that, after what happened last time...
