Thirteenth Flake [Text]

[Normally, Elsa doesn't care for making text posts. Video helps her be more open people, and even after over a year here, she could always use more help with that! But there are still rare occasions where she just... doesn't trust her emotions to stay under control. So text it is for those days.]

For those of you who have been here for quite a while now:
Is there... any good way to cope with people from other worlds leaving?
I know that, when people from your own world leave, you can be comforted in the fact that you'll see them again when you return home.

But... what about those from other worlds?
They're gone, and unless you remain here for long enough that you return, you'll never see them again.
And if they're important to you, just as much as the people from your own world...

How can you get over the disappearance of someone like that?

Of course not. But as long as you do not talk with her, the awkwardness will remain, and perhaps even grow. It's a matter of... getting it over with, you could say.

[Unpoetic, certainly, but it's always worked for him.]

This land is a miracle, for some. Whether by allowing them to live beyond their death, or by facilitating meetings that would normally necessitate the direct intervention of a deity. Most of our group happened to be brought here at the same time, for a few weeks.

The joy I felt upon seeing them once more greatly outweighs the pain I felt after their disappearance.

[Note that he did not say no.]

Then again, many of them have left Pokémon I now care for behind. Perhaps I'd feel differently, were there no more remnants of their presence.

Of course. I train them every week, I buy them regular treats, I teach them any TM that catches their eye... But I've never dared to ask them how much they remember of their old trainers. If they'd rather have them back.

Oh, we talked much about them at first, of course. Especially when some of my comrades still remained. And then... That loss was over five years ago, for some of my Pokémon. Along the way, those talks simply stopped. Not all at once, but over time...
