Second Flake [video/Action for Violet City]

[The Elsa that appears on the video today is a much, much calmer Elsa then was last seen at the beginning of the month. In fact, she looks very relaxed, lounging by the shore of the lake just outside of Sprout Tower. By her side is a new addition to her team; a Lapras, very young if its smaller size is anything to go by. It seems to be dozing off, its head resting in Elsa's lap. She's gently stroking the creature's neck, a soft smile on her face.]

I have another question. This one, thankfully, is on a much less distressing note.

[SHE'S STILL SORRY SHE PUT THAT NEAR PANIC-ATTACK ON YOU ALL LIKE THAT....]

Does keeping Pokemon in those balls of theirs for long periods of time... hurt them or upset them in any way? None of the locals here seem too concerned about such a thing, but even so... I can't help but worry a bit. I try to keep mine out of their balls as much as possible, but I'm afraid that might not be very doable with this one, once Anna and I start traveling again...

Hey, all that sliding around the castle has taught me how to move around without making footsteps! Did I shock you, like some kind of ninja?

[Anna laughs to herself right back, looking over Elsa's shoulder to see the babby Pokemon...]

It really likes you too, I can see...it probably thinks of you as its mother figure. You should see what it becomes when it grows up...it's really a beautiful Pokemon. It gets big, too! People actually ride on its back often, supposedly.

I don't know if you're quite at the level of a ninja, but yes. You certainly shocked me.

[And thank goodness her powers don't work here, or else she might have accidentally frozen something over...]

A-A mother figure? But how.... you were the one that cared for the egg before I did. If anything, I think you would be considered her mother.

That may be, but you were the first person to see her when she hatched, so that means you're her mom, in her eyes! And it certainly shows, right? Look how affectionate it is with you!

I suppose that makes sense...

[Elsa laughs again at the thought that suddenly pops into her head.] Does that make her Olaf and Marshmallow's little sister?

That's what it looks like! I'm sure they'd be thrilled to meet her, too..!

[And yet, the fact that she considers Olaf and Marshmallow her babies...that's so adorable...]

...Don't worry. We'll camp out by the waterfronts whenever we can, when we get back on the road from here.

You read my mind, you know. I was going to ask you about that... I know it won't be possible to camp near a lake or river wherever we go, but I'd like to do it as often as possible. Especially since she's still just a baby... I don't like the idea of leaving her out of the water for too long when she's still growing. What if she can't properly learn how to swim???

[... Yep. Elsa is totally in mama mode over this cute little prehistoric creature.]

Oh, Elsa...don't worry. We can go down to Route 32, then, after we decide to finish up everything here. It's a little bit long, but there's a ton of water down about halfway through. I'm sure it'd be perfect for the little cutie...

[Elsa lets out a small sigh of relief. That's good. Here's hoping lakes and rivers are as common on the other routes as they were on the path from Cherrygrove to Violet...]

Good. Hopefully it'll be deep enough for Marlin too. [She laughs.] He'll definitely need much more exercise than her, with how big he got.

For now, maybe. But Lapras grows up to be around 8 feet, and I'm pretty sure they grow up kinda fast! She'll be all grown up before you know it.

Still, though, even when we're not around water, I think that when they're inside their balls it kinda becomes the environment that they find the most comfortable? I read somewhere that they're created to be attractive and comfortable for Pokemon, and that's why most weakened Pokemon don't break free from them when you try to catch them. When a Pokemon's weakened, they instinctively curl up to heal, and the ball's made to encourage them getting cozy inside of it.

Wow, really? That encyclopedia entry mentioned them being able to carry people on their backs, but I didn't think they got that big...

[She looks down at the Lapras, who seems to have woken up and is now looking sleepily up at the sisters.]

Hear that, Freya? You're gunna be a pretty big baby soon.

["Freya" coos happily, and Elsa can't help but laugh and scratch under her chin.]

Freya...beauty and love, huh? Elsa, you're such a dork, naming them all after Norse gods...

[Anna laughs too, at how happy the little Pokemon seems...]

...You're so cute together...you really do treat your Pokemon so well, Elsa.

[Elsa huffs a little at that.] How does that make me a dork? It's a nice naming theme!

[Naw it definitely makes you a dork, Elsa, nice or not.]

It's a little strange.... I thought I'd be awful at taking care of them, at first. I mean, we were never allowed to have pets growing up. Even... Before. [NOPE DON'T DWELL ON IT] I didn't even ride horses like you did!

Even if it's nice, it's still pretty dorky! I mean, really, only you would do something like that!

[Still, though, she loves her for it~]

I told you it wouldn't be too hard. As long as you treat them basically the way you want to be treated, I think they're pretty simple to take care of.

[Elsa crosses her arms, trying to look annoyed, but there's a smile tugging at the corners of her mouth that she's not really trying to hide.]

So that makes me dorky, hm? what does that make you, then, for naming a fish Marlin?

[Oh, no, the tables are turning...]

What's wrong with the name Marlin?! I thought it was cute! Cause, yanno, marlins are usually really huge and intimidating...

But you still named a fish after a kind of fish, silly! That'd be like naming a dog-type pokemon "Elkhound" or "Retriever".

[YOU MAKE FUN OF ELSA'S NAMING CHOICES, ANNA, AND SHE'LL MAKE FUN OF YOURS.]

B-b-but Marlin could be an actual name too, can't it? Like, you can actually name a kid Marlin and it'd work, so it's like a double joke, kinda, since it's both a people name and a fish name and it's supposed to be cute and...and...

[Anna's face turns red as she looks away, but she's trying hard not to laugh...]

[Elsa grins, nudging Anna with her elbow.] Just don't try calling me out on being the only nerdy one again, okay?

To be fair, I never said you were the only dork. Just that you were one.

I can admit to that. Just as long as you can admit to it as well.

Well, if I could choose anyone to be my partner-in-dorkness, it'd definitely be you, so, I mean, there's always that.
